Kallada River starts from the Kulathupuzha hills and Kulathupuzha Ayyappa Temple is situated on the bank of the river. Kulathupuzha is a famous
pilgrimage tourism destination. The Ayyappa temple at Kulathoopuzha is dedicated to 'boy' Sastha and hence closely linked to the famed pilgrim center of Sabarimala where the presiding deity is the Sastha. The main annual festival is on the Vishu Mahotsavam and it is celebrated on the mid of April.
